March 2, 3 & 4 have been announced as dates for the 2012 Clash at the Cove regatta. Marsden Cove Marina located just inside the entrance to Whangarei Harbour will host this event bringing together a diverse fleet of yachts to compete in a range of races starting with a race from Auckland.

The regatta will cater for competitive yacht crews and those of a more cruisy disposition in a variety of races.

Marsden Cove with its huge marquee and onshore facilities offers the unique ability to provide a very social after race prize giving and parties on both Friday and Saturday evenings.

On Saturday there will be a series of races for both racing and cruising divisions culminating with round the buoys and island passage races on Bream Bay.

Sunday will begin with an early breakfast followed by a departure of boats wishing to sail home.

Catering

A licensed bar and range of local community service groups will be selling meals and snacks at modest cost to serve the needs of all who attend. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals will be available.

It will be the prefect venue for family and friends to inexpensively share in the festivities and support their crew.

Marsden Cove is the main sponsor but the invitation is open to others to join and take this opportunity to host or promote their brand and products.

Prizes

There will be a range of prizes from a number of sponsors including Marsden Cove Marina. The Grand Prize will be 12 months free use of a marina berth.
