Clash at the Cove – Notice of Race
The Organising Authorities are Richmond Yacht Club (Inc) Onerahi Yacht Club (Inc) Gulf Harbour Yacht Club (Inc)
Rules
1.1 This regatta will be Governed by the “Rules” as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012
1.2 The YNZ Safety Regulations Part 2, Category 4 with life raft or fully inflated inflatable dingy shall apply to all keel boats. Windward leeward series exempt from Raft/dingy.
1.3 Part 5 Category A shall apply to trailer Yachts with life raft or fully inflated dinghy.
1.4 The YNZ Safety Regulations Part Category Shall apply to all trailer yachts
1.5 Sports Boats, Class yachts (Elliot 5.9 Magic25etc) and trailer yachts entering the windward leeward series only shall comply with their class rules at the time of the regatta.
Changes to Racing Rules
The Racing Rules will be changed in accordance with rule 86.
2.1 For protests where only a rule of part 2 is alleged to have been broken, an arbitration hearing will be offered prior to any formal protest hearing.
2.2 The Race specific Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions may also change other racing rules.
Eligibility and Entry
These races are open to all boats that meet the safety requirements for the races they are entering.
3.1 The helmsman or skipper shall be a financial member of a yacht club affiliated to YNZ.
3.2 Entries will be accepted up to 8pm Thursday 1st March by completing the official entry form and paying the entry fee
Lombardini Route 66 – Coastal race $30
Gulf Harbour Race – Coastal race $30
Windward leeward series – Bream Bay $30
Island race – Bream Bay $30

Entries may be posted to Richmond Yacht Club PO Box 2149 Auckland, Gulf Harbour Yacht Club-PO Box———-. Onerahi Yacht Club PO Box 1131 Whangarei.
Schedule of Events
Briefing for the Windward Leeward and Island Race will be held in the Marsden Cove Race tent at
8.00 am Saturday 3rd March.
4.2 Racing Schedule Friday 2nd March Lombardini Route 66, Gulf Harbour Yacht Club Race. Saturday 3rd
Windward Leeward Series, Island Race.
4.3 It is Mandatory for the skipper or a representative to attend the relative briefings
4.4 A boat may enter one or more of the races offered as each is a stand alone event.
4.5 To be eligible for the series prizes a boat must enter 2 events i.e. Lombardini Route 66 +Windward Leeward, Gulf Harbour Race +Island Race.
4.6 All boats entered to race will be given complementary marina berthage in Marsden Cove Marina before during and after this event
Sailing Instructions
Sailing Instructions will be issued at the Race Briefing for the races entered
Scoring
5.1 Two races will be required to be completed to constitute a series
5.2 Positions will be calculated using PHRF, and/or general Handicap.
Racing area
6.1 Racing will take place between the Auckland and Whangarei Harbours, Bream Bay including the
Hen and Chicken Islands, and Sail Rock.
Prizes
7.1 There will be a prize giving each night for the races sailed that day. The final prize giving will be
